Nov 2022 – Feb 2023 ‘Making Space’ Project
‘Make Space’ is a collaborative Social Art Project. I worked with Trinity Art Group (TAG, a community-based art group that comprises individuals who have experienced or are vulnerable to homelessness, mental health issues, and social isolation). We developed wearable sculptures through a series of workshops. On 3rd Feb 2023, our final workshop, we took over and occupied Southampton City Gallery: making a scene to be seen and claiming cultural equity, identity, and visibility.
March-May 2022 Ropewalk Social Art Project
Ropewalk Social Project is a collaborative social art project between WSA, the University’s Social Impact Lab (SIL), and Ropewalk Community. The aim was to reveal and reconnect, engage and celebrate the diversity and creativity in the deprived local community. I ran a Cyanotype print workshop with the residents, then exhibited their artwork at various sites within the community as site-specific installations.
